Fantasy Football Streams of the Week: Week 12

Week 12 Defense Rankings

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and hopefully any players you had going for DET, HOU, DAL, or WAS put up a great score for you. As always, when picking players available in 50% or more leagues, last week was hit and miss. This week gives us a much thinner pool, with three games being played on Thursday. Since this article drops on Friday, I skip those players when considering my Streams of the Week. For the 2nd time this season, I am stacking Daniel Jones and the Giants DEF for my #1 streams. It went well for the DEF last time but Jones disappointed. I believe it will go far better this week — and it better since the playoffs are on the line.

Accountability

Stop me when you’ve heard this before: Great at DEF, bad at QB and TE. Bad might be a stretch, but getting two right per week is not quite up to my own expectations. Overall in Week 11, my top TE was a huge disappointment but my QB and DEF were both top-5 at their position, including the Cleveland Browns being the #1 DEF in the league. That is a dream come true for those of us living the stream!

Quarterbacks

SOTW – Daniel Jones @ CIN
There are so many reasons to like the Giants this week. It starts with how bad the Bengals are going to be. They’ve lost rookie sensation Joe Burrow and will replace him with practice squad QB Brandon Allen. Their DEF should put them in great positions all game long (more on that later). The Bengals defense has given up 15 passing touchdowns and is allowing about 19 points-per-game to Fantasy QBs in their last five games. Jones has scored 80 points in his last four games so a 20 point game seems like a good floor. Jones is available in 68% of Yahoo leagues and 80% on ESPN.

2. Derek Carr @ ATL
3. Teddy Bridgewater @ MIN
4. Kirk Cousins vs CAR
5. Philip Rivers vs TEN

Tight Ends

SOTW – Robert Tonyan vs CHI
Tonyan was looking like he was going to be the next great fantasy TE early this season, but his production has fallen off recently. Basically, once Davante Adams came back, Tonyan was an afterthought. He finally had a big game last week, going 5 for 5 for 44 yards and a touchdown, and faces a Chicago defense that does great against WRs and gives up the 8th most fantasy points to TEs this season. The Bears have given up six touchdowns to TEs on the season and a touchdown pretty much guarantees you’re happy with your streaming TE. Tonyan is available in just about 50% of Yahoo leagues but over 60% on ESPN.

2. Jordan Reed @ LAR
3. Tyler Eifert vs CLE
4. Trey Burton vs TEN
5. Will Dissly @ PHI

DEF/ST

SOTW – New York Giants @ CIN
Most people turn their nose at the Giants’ DEF/ST but they are far better than you think, at least for fantasy. They have only had one actual bad game this season and that was back in Week 3. Otherwise, they’ve scored at least 4 fantasy points in every game this season and they are averaging over 8 fantasy points-per-game over their last six games. During that same span, they had three games with 10+ fantasy points. The Bengals’ offense, even when they had Joe Burrow, allowed the 5th most fantasy points to D/ST and there is no way that improves under Brandon Allen, or whoever they send out at QB. If Daniel Jones can control his own turnovers, this game could get ugly. You can find the Giants D/ST in about 50% of leagues, both platforms.

2. Green Bay Packers vs CHI
3. Seattle Seahawks @ PHI
4. San Francisco 49ers @ LAR
5. Buffalo Bills vs LAC
