Week 9 Fantasy Football Streamers: Top QB, TE, and DEF Picks

Fantasy Football 2026

Look, it’s been a WEIRD year. A few weeks ago, my Stream of the Week defense scored negative fantasy points and finished dead last; then we got Baker Mayfield’s game last week. Not one completed pass, and he scored but a single fantasy point. One fantasy point for a quarterback is AWFUL, and I’m sorry. Hilariously, the Bucs won that game, but I doubt he pulled out many fantasy matchups. Football is weird. Anyway, we are back at it trying to pick the best streams for Week 9.

Each week, I highlight five fantasy football streaming options at QB, TE, and DEF. These players are available in at least 50% of ESPN leagues and can still provide a matchup edge. Let’s dive into this week’s picks and find you the upside you need.

Accountabilty

Am I any good at this? I’ll let the numbers speak for themselves. In this section, you’ll see how my Stream of the Week (SOTW) and Best Pick finish every week. Since I always provide five options, my Best Pick is the one that scores the most points, even if I didn’t designate it as the Stream of the Week. Essentially, the Best Pick line shows what you could achieve if you streamed only from my weekly lists.

Scores and rankings are based on PPR scoring and 4-point passing touchdowns. Most leagues use 6-point passing touchdowns, but data providers default to 4-point systems, so I’m keeping things consistent.

If you want to see my old picks, this link will take you to my past Stream of the Week articles.

QB TE DEF
SOTW Last Week 1 point (QB27) 8 points (TE18) 4 points (DEF17)
SOTW Season-Long 109 points (QB20) 63 points (TE22) 41 points (DEF17)
Best Pick Last Week 28 points (QB2) 17 points (TE5) 9 points (DEF8)
Best Pick Season-Long 194 points (QB1) 128 points (TE2) 88 points (DEF1)

Week 9 Fantasy Football Streamers

Week 9 Fantasy Football Streamers

Quarterback

Drew Lock vs. ARZ

This is a big swing, but I was originally going to make Sam Darnold my Stream of the Week. He was coming off a two-TD game, and Arizona is a great matchup. Then they announced he was ruled Out. Do I go to SOTW Option 2? Nope, give me Darnold’s backup. The last time we saw Lock play, he threw for 235 yards and three TDs. He was the QB9 in Week 2. His opponent? The Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals have continued to get beat up by QBs since that game. In fact, since Week 2, they have allowed the second-most fantasy points to QBs this season. I am betting on a repeat for Drew Lock.

Other Options

Tight End

Greg Dulcich vs. DET

Speaking of a repeat, we are running it back with Greg Dulcich. In four of his five games, Dulcich has seen at least five targets, and he is a top-15 fantasy tight end on average in those games. And he’s done all of that without scoring a TD. If he finds the endzone, he is a top-10 option as a streamer. Enter, the Detroit Lions. While the Lions have improved on defense over the last few weeks, it has not extended to the tight end. Both season-long and over the last month, they have allowed more points to the tight end than any other team. They have also allowed TEN tight end TDs this year. Sounds like Dulcich’s drought might be over.

Defense

Green Bay Packers @ NE

This was a tough decision, because New England looks good, but Green Bay is a top-7 defense. Despite New England getting their offense together, they are still giving up sacks and turnovers, and for fantasy defense, those are the metrics to chase. In their last two games, the Patriots have allowed five sacks and two takeaways. Over the season, they allow two sacks and two giveaways per game. For their part, the Packers are top-10 in sacks and top-15 in QB hits. They are also second in the league in takeaways. There might be a lot of actual points scored in this game, but the Packers should be fine as a fantasy defense.

Other Options

  • Bengals @ ATL
  • Chiefs vs. NYJ
  • Bears vs. TB
  • Bucanners @ CHI
