Is it me, or are these injuries out of control this season? I have been playing fantasy football for over 20 years, and I cannot recall it ever being this bad. Also, can we talk about the malpractice the Eagles showed in handling Jalen Hurts? What a mess. Speaking of mess, take a look at your fantasy roster. We better get into the Week 7 fantasy football waivers!
Every week, we’ll highlight our Top 5 fantasy football waiver wire pickups to help you stay ahead of the competition and keep your roster strong. When bye weeks start, I also like to add this Pro Tip: WATCH THE DROP LIST! With so many players on bye, managers may need to cut someone they normally would not.
Week 7 byes: Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, LA Chargers, and Washington Commanders.
A few quick notes: I use ESPN as my baseline, so players must be available in at least 50% of ESPN leagues to make the list. I’m also a proponent of streaming QB, TE, K, and DEF, so you’ll rarely see those positions here; they’re easy to snag for free after waivers. Save your FAAB! Now, let’s hit the Top 5.
Week 7 Fantasy Football Waivers

C.J. Stroud (56% Available on ESPN, 40% on Sleeper)
Now this is the C.J. Stroud we have all been waiting for! It was a rough two seasons after his stellar rookie year, but Stroud is on pace for his best season ever in Year 4. It helps that the Texans cannot run the football. Regardless, Stroud has shown a safe floor, a great ceiling, and is the QB5 in fantasy right now. He should be rostered in all leagues, especially if you just lost Hurts. He also gets the Giants in Week 7, so it’s wheels up. I will note that he is on bye in Week 8; plan accordingly.
FAAB Suggestion: 15%. Likelihood you’ll still be starting him in a month: 75%.

Germie Bernard (55% Available on ESPN, 42% on Sleeper)
Whoa. Did we finally find a rookie that Aaron Rodgers does not hate? Bernard followed up his Week 5 breakout by catching 11 of 12 targets, recording 87 yards, and finding the endzone. He was the WR3 in Week 6. It will be hard to put this genie back in the bottle, even after Roman Wilson returns. Bernard might be the new WR1 in Pittsburgh; ADD HIM!
FAAB Suggestion: 75%. Likelihood you’ll still be starting him in a month: 90%.
Tre Tucker (55% Available on ESPN, 48% on Sleeper)
Full Disclaimer: I thought about just writing “I told you so” here and moving on. Tucker has been a favorite waiver add of mine for weeks, and I was adamant he would eat the Bills’ lunch. And he did. Tucker was the WR2 in Week 6, but I put him behind Bernard due to floor concerns. He showed his ceiling in Week 6. For the three games prior to Week 6, Tucker put 4 for 40 days. That’s only eight fantasy points. Not great, but not bad either. BUT, when you combine that with this ceiling, 28 points in Weeks 2 and 6, you get an excellent WR3/Flex option. As of now, Tucker is the WR18 in fantasy and should be rostered EVERYWHERE. Also, I told you so.
FAAB Suggestion: 15%. Likelihood you’ll still be starting him in a month: 75%.
Keenan Allen (60% Available on ESPN, 56% on Sleeper)
I really did not think we would still be talking about my king in 2026, but I am so happy we are. Allen is everything we want Josh Downs to be. He finished Week 6 at 11 targets and an 8/82/0 stat line. He is still one of the best route runners in the game with great hands and should be a Flex consideration in all PPR leagues.
FAAB Suggestion: 10%. Likelihood you’ll still be starting him in a month: 35%.
Omar Cooper (97% Available on ESPN, 87% on Sleeper)
I was hesitant to add Cooper to the list, but honestly, there are no better options. Running back is a mess right now, hence none making my Top 5. Cooper went off in his first game back from the IR, posting six catches for 103 yards and a TD. He finished as the WR6 for the week. Hilariously, five of the top-10 receivers in Week 6 are available in 50% of leagues. Use the waiver wire as your WR bench! My hesitancy on Cooper is more about his role moving forward. He is not going to out-target Garrett Wilson most weeks, and Adonai Mitchell has shown some juice too. All in all, Cooper may be more boom-or-bust than an every-week WR2. Still, a great Flex play during bye weeks, though.
FAAB Suggestion: 10%. Likelihood you’ll still be starting him in a month: 35%.
