Well, that sucked. I’ve had bad weeks before, but rarely do all 3 of my Streams of the Week disappoint. And disappoint is not quite harsh enough for what happened to the New Orleans defense. I mentioned in the article that I was hesitant, and I should have trusted my gut. In all my years writing this article, never has my Streamer Defense finished as the DEF32. Dead. Last. Oof. Well, no need to dwell in the past, we’re on to Week 5 Streamers.
Each week, I highlight five fantasy football streaming options at QB, TE, and DEF. These players are available in at least 50% of ESPN leagues and can still provide a matchup edge. Let’s dive into this week’s picks and find you the upside you need.
Accountabilty
Am I any good at this? I’ll let the numbers speak for themselves. In this section, you’ll see how my Stream of the Week (SOTW) and Best Pick finish every week. Since I always provide five options, my Best Pick is the one that scores the most points, even if I didn’t designate it as the Stream of the Week. Essentially, the Best Pick line shows what you could achieve if you streamed only from my weekly lists.
Scores and rankings are based on PPR scoring and 4-point passing touchdowns. Most leagues use 6-point passing touchdowns, but data providers default to 4-point systems, so I’m keeping things consistent.
If you want to see my old picks, this link will take you to my past Stream of the Week articles.
| QB | TE | DEF | |
| SOTW Last Week | 13 points (QB18) | 6 points (TE26) | (-3) points (DEF32) |
| SOTW Season-Long | 54 points (QB22) | 36 points (TE19) | 29 points (DEF10) |
| Best Pick Last Week | 23 points (QB3) | 16 points (TE6) | 9 points (DEF3) |
| Best Pick Season-Long | 95 points (QB3) | 79 points (TE1) | 47 points (DEF2) |
Week 5 Fantasy Football Streamers

Quarterback
Jacoby Brissett vs. DET
Well, well, well. Look who we have here. Brissett was a streaming hero in 2025, and he hasn’t been too bad in 2026, just not great. The Cardinals are averaging 38 passes per game, good for eighth-most in the league, but Brissett is the QB19. You know what fixes efficiency problems? A date with the Detroit Lions. The Motor City kitties give up the most fantasy points to QBs, and no QB has scored fewer than 21 fantasy points against them, with all four opponents throwing for multiple TDs this season. Brissett should show us shades of 2025 again this week.
Other Options
- C.J. Stroud @ TEN
- Sam Darnold vs. SF
- Aaron Rodgers vs. IND
- Jordan Love vs. CHI
Tight End
Mike Gesicki @ MIA
Gesicki’s role in Cincinnati has always been “Break Glass In Case of Emergency.” With both Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins hurt, it’s an emergency. But even if both suit up (they won’t), the Dolphins are still a great matchup, giving up the fourth-most fantasy points to TEs and allowing either 100 yards or a TD to a TE in each of their last three games. Plus, this is a revenge game for Gesicki. The Dolphins discarded him; time to show them what they are missing. Top-10 week incoming.
Other Options
- Dalton Schultz @ TEN
- Greg Dulcich vs. CIN
- Kenyon Sadiq vs. CLE
- Hunter Henry vs. LV

Defense
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. PHI (London)
Boy, oh, boy do I need a defensive bounceback after last week. The good news: managers are ignoring the second-best in fantasy. I am not sure why the Jags are this available, but I’ll take the win. The Eagles are likely down Saquon Barkley, might be down Devonta Smith, and just lost two starting offensive linemen, one to trade, the other to retirement. It might be a bad trip across the pond for the Eagles. The Jags have 10 sacks and eight takeaways in four games, and should add to those totals in their home away from home.
Other Options
- Bengals @ MIA
- Patriots vs. LV
- Browns @ NYJ
- Raiders @ NE
