Week 8 Fantasy Streamers: Top QB, TE, and DEF Picks

Fantasy Football 2025

Well, we’re in the thick of it now! SIX TEAMS ON BYE! The player pool shrinks, and more managers in your league are trying to stream this week. Don’t panic; we got this. It’s also why I give five options every week! Last week, we smashed QB and DEF, but my top TE let me down…which is exactly why I am picking him again this week. I am a glutton for punishment.

All in all, streaming is doing great this year. If you made the best picks only using the player pool I gave you, you could have built the QB5, TE1, and DEF1. You love to see it. Now, let’s get you the right guys for Week 8.

Each week, I highlight five streaming options at QB, TE, and DEF. These players are available in at least 50% of ESPN leagues and can still provide a matchup edge. With fantasy teams hoarding many of these start-one positions, I have also added a “Look Ahead Option” so you can plan for next week as well. Now, let’s dive into this week’s picks and find the upside you need.

Accountability

Am I any good at this? I’ll let the numbers speak for themselves. In this section, you’ll see how my Stream of the Week (SOTW) and Best Pick finish every week. Since I always provide five options, my Best Pick is the one that scores the most points, even if I didn’t designate it as the Stream of the Week. “Essentially, the Best Pick line shows what you could achieve if you streamed only from my weekly lists.

Scores and rankings are based on PPR scoring and 4-point passing touchdowns. Although the world uses 6-point passing touchdowns, data providers prefer 4-point systems, and I am trying to keep this simple.

If you want to see my old picks, this link will take you to my past Stream of the Week articles.

QB TE DEF
SOTW Last Week 22 points (QB10) 6 points (TE27) 13 points (DEF7)
SOTW Season-Long 98 points (QB17) 68 points (TE10) 51 points (DEF8)
Best Pick Last Week 22 points (QB10) 18 points (TE5) 25 points (DEF1)
Best Pick Season-Long 142 points (QB5) 123 points (TE1) 104 points (DEF1)

Week 8 Fantasy Streamers

Quarterback

Aaron Rodgers vs GB

I don’t care what Aaron Rodgers says; this is a revenge game. He dropped four TDs on the Jets in Week 1, and we have to believe he hates the Green Bay organization way more than the Jets. While the Packers’ defense is solid overall, they have allowed the most fantasy points to QBs over the last month. They gave up 30 points to Dak Prescott while allowing 16 to Joe Flacco and 21 to Jacoby Brissett. Basically, that means Rodgers has a safe floor and an incredible ceiling. With only 26 QBs playing this week, that is a perfect streaming option.

Other Options

Tight End

Mason Taylor @ CIN

Yes, we are running it back at QB and TE this week. While Rodgers smashed as my Stream of the Week QB, Taylor was a letdown. So, why pick him again? Tyrod Taylor. It appears that Justin Fields’ reign of fantasy terror is over, and I trust the Taylor-to-Taylor connection a lot more. The situation hasn’t changed; Garrett Wilson is still hurt, and the Jets don’t have another reliable wideout. Mason Taylor should see significant volume. Then, you throw in a great matchup against Cincinnati. The Bengals just allowed four tight-end touchdowns last week, so here’s hoping Mason Taylor redeems himself in Week 8.

Other Options

Defense

Buffalo Bills @ CAR

With Bryce Young set to miss this game, I don’t think we’ll see the same Andy Dalton we got last year. He’s older and slower than Young, and the Buffalo pass rush should be ready to pounce. The Bills were off in Week 7, but had nine sacks and three takeaways in their last three games. The Panthers’ offense hasn’t exactly been scary, even with Bryce Young. The matchup offers a safe floor, and if Dalton makes just one or two mistakes, the Bills could easily finish as a top-10 play.

Other Options

  • Falcons vs MIA
  • Buccaneers @ NO
  • Chargers vs MIN (Thursday)
  • Browns @ NE
  • Look Ahead Option: Rams play NO in Week 9, but if you want back-to-back, Chargers play TEN.
