We’ve reached the time of year when I just use my intros to lament. Last week, we finally got good play from my Stream of the Week QB, but this time, my DEF/ST lets me down. One of these weeks, I will hit on all three in the same week. All in all, things are looking good in the streaming world. My Stream of the Week picks are competitive, and the best picks this article has provided are better than the TE1 and DEF1 in your fantasy league right now. Let’s keep it rolling into Week 7.
Each week, I highlight five streaming options at QB, TE, and DEF. These players are available in at least 50% of ESPN leagues and can still provide a matchup edge. With fantasy teams hoarding many of these start-one positions, I have also added a “Look Ahead Option” so you can plan for next week as well. Now, let’s dive into this week’s picks and find the upside you need.
Accountabilty
Am I any good at this? I’ll let the numbers speak for themselves. In this section, you’ll see how my Stream of the Week (SOTW) and Best Pick finish every week. Since I always provide five options, my Best Pick is the one that scores the most points, even if I didn’t designate it as the Stream of the Week. Essentially, Best Pick showcases what streaming with any of my picks from this article can achieve.
Scores and rankings are based on PPR scoring and 4-point passing touchdowns. Although the world uses 6-point passing touchdowns, data providers prefer 4-point systems, and I am trying to keep this simple.
If you want to see my old picks, this link will take you to my past Stream of the Week articles.
| QB | TE | DEF | |
| SOTW Last Week | 18 points (QB15) | 15 points (TE7) | 2 points (DEF18) |

| Best Pick Last Week | 20 points (QB9) | 15 points (TE7) | 17 points (DEF1) |
| Best Pick Season-Long | 120 points (QB7) | 105 points (TE1) | 79 points (DEF1) |
Week 7 Fantasy Streamers
Quarterback
Aaron Rodgers @ CIN (Thursday)
The Bengals are still bad on defense, no matter who the QB is. Last week, Jordan Love went for 269 yards and a TD against them. Not terrible, but certainly not great. However, we can expect more scoring from Pittsburgh, at least through the air. While the Steelers have a solid running game, they have only scored three rushing TDs this season.
Meanwhile, Rodgers is averaging 200 yards and two TDs per game. That would be good for 16 fantasy points in standard scoring leagues, and the Bengals allow about 18 fantasy points per game. If the Bengals can keep this game competitive, we should see solid play from Rodgers this week. He has a safe floor, and if you throw in 50 more yards and a TD, streamers will be happy.
Other Options
- Bryce Young @ NYJ
- C.J. Stroud @ SEA
- Michael Penix @ SF
- Dillon Gabriel vs. MIA
- Look Ahead Option: Michael Penix plays MIA in Week 8.
Tight End
Mason Taylor vs. CAR
A week ago, it looked like Taylor was about to be a weekly starter in fantasy. He was coming off a 12-target game and was averaging eight targets per game over his previous three games. Then we hit Week 6. Justin Fields was AWFUL, and as a result, the entire Jets offense suffered. Taylor had just one target in the game.
So, how do we play him in Week 7? Well, first, who the hell else is Justin Fields going to throw to? This is, of course, assuming he throws, lol (nervous laughter!) With Garrett Wilson set to miss this game, Taylor will be the de facto WR1, based on current team targets. Then you throw in the opponent: the Panthers give up the second-most fantasy points to tight ends, and every team they have faced has had a tight end score at 7.9 fantasy points. That is a great floor, and we saw the ceiling two weeks ago, when Darren Waller dropped 18.8 on them.
Other Options
- Harold Fannin vs. MIA
- Cade Otton @ DET
- Michael Mayer @ KC
- Dalton Schultz @ SEA
- Look Ahead Option: If you can’t get Taylor, Evan Engram plays DAL in Week 8.
Defense
Kansas City Chiefs vs. LV
It’s early, but the Chiefs certainly appear to be back on the Super Bowl warpath. Patrick Mahomes is balling, and they get Rashee Rice back this week. None of this directly helps the defense, but tells a story of how, indirectly, this game could get ugly.
The Raiders are bad. They give up about three sacks and almost two turnovers per game, on average. For the year, they allow the fifth-most points to fantasy defenses. Kansas City is the DEF17 right now, with average sack and takeaway numbers, but this feels like a get-right game. The Chiefs’ offense should build a lead early and put their defense in a spot to pin their ear back and get after Geno Smith. If this is a blowout, that will likely mean big points and a top-5 finish for the Kansas City defense in fantasy.
Other Options
- Jaguars vs. LAR
- Browns vs. MIA
- Bears vs. NO
- Falcons @ SF
- Look Ahead Option: Buffalo Bills play CAR in Week 8.
