Week 4 Fantasy Football Waivers: Trey Benson to the Rescue!

Fantasy Football Waivers

It took a few weeks, but now, fantasy football is TRULY back. Your favorite player? Probably hurt. Or, at the very least, his QB is hurt. The best player in fantasy football last week? Available in over 90% of fantasy leagues. But can you trust him to do it again? Fantasy football is hard. Isn’t this fun! Let’s get into your best options on the Week 4 waiver wire.

A few quick notes: I use ESPN as my baseline, so players must be available in at least 50% of ESPN leagues to be included on the list. I’m also a proponent of streaming QB, TE, K, and DEF, so you’ll rarely see those positions on my list; they’re easy to snag for free after waivers. Save your FAAB! Now, let’s hit the Top 5.

Week 4 Fantasy Football Waivers

Trey Benson (45% Available on ESPN, 41% on Sleeper)

Yes, I am breaking my 50% available rule on this one, but Benson is the first MAJOR free agent pickup of the 2025 season, and you need to check if he is available in your league. While he has not done much this season, he has primarily been the backup for James Conner. With Conner done for the year, Benson is now a lead back and worth every dime of FAAB you have left. He was a third-round pick last year, and this will be his first opportunity to prove himself.

On 84 career carries, Benson has 416 yards, giving him a five-yard per carry average. He’s also already caught more balls this season than he did in his whole rookie year. I already like Benson as a 2025 breakout player, and that campaign starts in Week 4.

Bhayshul Tuten (51% Available on ESPN, 39% on Sleeper)

HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO MENTION HIM IN THIS ARTICLE? I am sorry I am yelling…I am sure all of you reading this have already checked on him. But three weeks of over 50% availability on ESPN is ridiculous. Tuten is the RB35 on the season and seemingly getting better every week. I love Travis Etienne, but if he gets hurt, Tuten is a league winner. So help me, he had better be above 50% next week.

Elic Ayomanor (79% Available on ESPN, 50% on Sleeper)

While Calvin Ridley might be the team’s WR1, Ayomanor is making the most of the number-two role. He is averaging six targets per game and is the WR36 on the season. That basically means he should be rostered everywhere. He is a weekly WR3/Flex play and could be a WR2 by season’s end.

Tre Tucker (98% Available on ESPN, 94% on Sleeper)

No player scored more fantasy points in Week 3 than Tre Tucker, but you don’t get credit for last week’s points. Can he do it again? There are some positive signs. He seems to be operating ahead of both rookie WRs in the Raiders offense, and is at 20 targets in three games. His monster Week 3, three-TD performance has Tucker ranked the third-best WR in fantasy right now, but don’t overdo it on FAAB. He is a boom-or-bust Flex play in this Las Vegas offense. Let someone else overpay and focus on Ayomanor and the RBs.

Luther Burden (90% Available on ESPN, 75% on Sleeper)

The Bears’ offense is starting to take shape, and it looks promising for fantasy. While it hasn’t paid dividends for DJ Moore, Rome Odunze is looking like a WR1, and, in Week 3, Bears’ rookie WR Luther Burden may have come into his own. Burden recorded 101 yards and a TD against Dallas after combining for two yards in his first two games.  It is not impossible that Moore is traded, and Burden has a much bigger role later this season. This could be the best week to snag him, as most will put him behind Tre Tucker in their waiver priority. You’re probably not starting Burden every week, but if you have room to stash, he could be a winning lottery ticket.
