DFS Week 2 Picks

Answers to the Test

Every week, we start by looking back at the winning lineup and slate breaker. The Week 1 milli-maker winner scored 193.92 with a very straightforward build:

Notes: No stacks, just two bring-backs, and overall a very common-sense lineup that got it done.

Cash Plays – Austin’s Specialty

When you’re grinding cash games, it’s all about safety and volume.

Top of the Class ($8K+)

  • Christian McCaffrey (DK $7,500 / FD $8,900): Still underpriced on DK, steady as ever.

Band Nerds ($6K–$8K)

  • CeeDee Lamb (DK $7,800 / FD $8,700): Locked-in alpha.
  • James Conner (DK $6,600 / FD $7,700): Volume and goal-line equity.
  • Brian Thomas Jr. (DK $6,700 / FD $7,600): Keeps showing up in this range for a reason.

Bookworms ($4K–$6K)

  • Trevor Lawrence (DK $5,600 / FD $7,000): Way too cheap for his upside.
  • Dylan Sampson (DK $5,200 / FD $5,500): Cheap RB with a passing-down role.
  • Hollywood Brown (DK $5,200 / FD $6,500): Value WR with big-play ability.
  • Rome Odunze (DK $4,800 / FD $5,800): Discount won’t last.

C’s Get Degrees (<$4K)

  • Mac Jones (DK $4,000 / FD $6,000): Ugly, but playable punt QB.
  • Harold Fannin (DK $3,100 / FD $5,000): Breakout Week 1, still dirt cheap.
  • Colts D (DK $2,600 / FD $4,000): Salary-saver defense with upside.

Tournament Talk (GPP Plays)

Cash is safe, but tournaments are where you take the test with no notes. Time to swing big.

Quarterback

  • Austin: Kyler Murray (DK $6,400 / FD $7,700)
  • Ryan: Justin Fields vs BUF (DK $5,700 / FD $7,500) –  Looked better as a passer, still dangerous on the ground.

Running Back

  • Austin: Chuba Hubbard (DK $6,000 / FD $6,400), Breece Hall (DK $6,200 / FD $7,300)
  • Ryan: Dylan Sampson @ BAL (DK $5,200 / FD $5,500) –  Underrated pass-catching role, great DK floor, too cheap on FD.

Wide Receiver

  • Austin: Marvin Harrison (DK $5,800 / FD $6,700), Ja’Marr Chase (DK $8,100 / FD $9,000), Brian Thomas Jr. (DK $6,700 / FD $7,600), Dyami Brown (DK $4,200 / FD $4,700), Cedric Tillman (DK $4,300 / FD $5,400)
  • Ryan: Ja’Marr Chase vs JAX (DK $8,100 / FD $9,000) –  Expensive, but the bounceback game is coming.

Tight End

  • Austin: Dalton Kincaid (DK $3,700 / FD $5,300)
  • Ryan: Brenton Strange @ CIN (DK $3,600 / FD $5,100)  – CIN can’t stop TEs, Strange is cheap volume with upside.

Defense

  • Austin: Patriots (DK $2,800 / FD $4,400)
  • Ryan: Rams @ TEN (DK $3,100 / FD $4,500)  – TEN gave up 6 sacks last week, Rams could feast.

Valedictorian Shootout

Every week, Austin and Ryan go head-to-head on DraftKings. Austin took the Week 1 win, 132.2 to 105.9, riding CMC, Bijan, and Conner.

Week 2 Lineups

  • Austin: Trevor Lawrence – CMC – Conner – CeeDee – BTJ – Hollywood – Odunze – Fannin – IND D
  • Ryan: Justin Fields – Sampson – Kyren – CMC – Ja’Marr – Boutte – Metcalf – Strange – Rams D

Winner gets bragging rights each week, and by season’s end, we’ll see who’s crowned Valedictorian and who ends up class clown.
