If you were to look up consistency in the dictionary, you’d find a picture of Brian Robinson. The Washington Commander enters his fourth year in the league fresh off a campaign where he set career highs in rushing yards and touchdowns. So why is he being ranked as the fantasy RB33? Let’s talk about that!

Brian Robinson 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook
Explaining What Happened in 2024
As always, to help predict the future, we need to look first to the past. In 2024, Robinson rushed for 799 yards and 8 touchdowns, while catching 20 balls for 159 yards and another 4 touchdowns over 13 games. In half-PPR scoring, this was good enough to finish as the RB25 in points per game.
As steady as they come, Robinson has now rushed for 700-plus yards in his first three years in the league with a nice 4.1 yards per carry over that span. Fantasy drafters were concerned with how the addition of Austin Ekeler and a rookie QB, Jayden Daniels, would impact Robinson’s 2024 output, but Robinson delivered on his ADP despite the changes.
What’s changed around him in Washington?
Enough about the past! You’re here for some advice for this year! So what’s changed in Washington that could impact Robinson? The short answer is: not much! The Commanders drafted Jacory Croskey-Merritt in the 7th round of the draft, but the rest of the roster remains relatively unchanged. Robinson projects to be the starter, with Austin Ekeler and Croskey-Merritt filling in when needed.
Of note, there is a lot of pre-season hype on Croskey-Merritt at the moment. While there’s a chance he carves out a nice role in the offense, this would project to remove value from Ekeler’s fantasy production more so than Robinson’s. Also, it’s pre-season. Let’s not overreact too much, yeah?

Why I’m Excited for 2025
As the title of the article suggests, Robinson is someone to target in all of your drafts. Why, you ask? It’s all about value! Per rankings, as of the writing of this article, Robinson is going off the board as RB33. This is only three spots above teammate Austin Ekeler, for what it’s worth. Robinson is going in what many in the industry call the “running back dead zone,” where drafters aren’t necessarily inspired with their picks.
Here’s the thing: you should be! On a points per game basis, Robinson finished as the RB25 in 2024. Ekeler is another year older with health concerns, and Croskey-Merritt hasn’t proven to be a real threat just yet. The Commanders boast an elite offense that will move the ball up and down the field, yielding scoring opportunities galore for the RB. Robinson has established himself as a solid RB in the league, so he’ll continue to get handed the ball.
Looking at the other RBs being drafted around him, no one else offers the same floor of production, peppered with a nice chance of upside. When drafting in the middle rounds and looking for a solid flex option, you want precisely that.
I’m convinced! Where should I be drafting Brian Robinson?
Now you’re asking the right questions! Robinson should be viewed as an RB3/FLEX with weekly upside to finish as an RB2. The best part about where he’s being drafted at the moment is that you won’t need to over-extend to get him on your roster. While he doesn’t boast top-10 upside, no one in the range where Robinson is going does. What he does provide is consistency and a solid floor to help your team towards greatness.

A Look Inside the Washington Commanders
Editor’s Note: While this article focuses on Brian Robinson in fantasy football, we don’t want to leave you hanging on the rest of the team. Here is a quick look at the other fantasy-relevant Commanders from Ryan Weisse.
Jayden Daniels
What a rookie season! Daniels went from late-round pick to league winner, finishing as the QB5 in fantasy. This year, you’ll pay QB3 prices, but he might still be worth it. He has elite rushing upside and showed us in Year 1 that he can win as a passer. The Terry McLaurin contract drama is scary, but Daniels’ rushing upside should keep him in the Top 5 even without his best weapon.
Austin Ekeler
Two things have propped Ekeler up in his career: receptions and touchdowns. Last year, he only played 12 games, but even in that small sample, you’d hope for more than four TDs. Worse yet, none of them were in the passing game. He did catch 35 balls, good for 29th at the position, but still nothing to write home about. Now, throw in Deebo Samuel, who does Ekeler things better than Ekeler, and his window of relevance is closing. He still has some PPR value, but more as a bye-week fill than a Flex.
Terry McLaurin
This paragraph should have been about how a great QB finally unlocked Mr. F1. Instead, the McLaurin has been garaged…by itself…self-driving cars are out of control. Terrible metaphors aside, a holdout for McLaurin is a disaster for fantasy managers. At his age, injury was already a concern, but missing these early practices increases those concerns. He went from a player I was targeting to a player I am actively avoiding.
Deebo Samuel
Deebo in a creative Kliff Kingsbury offense sounds like a match made in heaven. There have been conflicting reports on his camp shape, literally from best shape of his life to overweight old man, so you may want to monitor the situation, but this offense needs firepower, especially if McLaurin misses time, and Samuel is its most proven weapon.
Zach Ertz
Ertz was a pleasant surprise last year, playing well in his mid-30s and finishing as the TE6. He’ll be easy to write off this year, but, as of this writing, he’s Jayden Daniels’ most trusted, available target. Early camp reports indicate Ben Sinnott might be more involved this year, but Ertz seems likely to be a redzone threat. He’s more of a streamer than an every-week play, but don’t write him off just yet.
