Consistency, thy name be Garrett Wilson. In his three NFL seasons, Wilson has never had fewer than 147 targets, 83 receptions, and 1042 receiving yards. Those are some fine numbers to take to the bank on fantasy draft day, but is there another level to his game? Let’s go deeper as we take a Look Inside the 2025 New York Jets.

Garrett Wilson 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook
2024 Review
If expected fantasy points are a function of the previous season’s volume, there may be no more valuable receiver than Garrett Wilson. Wilson led the league in Snap Share (96.5%), was #3 in Routes Run (645), #4 in Targets (153), and #6 in Route Participation (99.7%). When the Jets traded for Davante Adams, some in the Dynasty community (read: not me) suggested trading away Garrett Wilson.
The thinking that Aaron Rodgers would lock onto once-and-then-current teammate Adams at the expense of Wilson was not unreasonable, but certainly did not materialize. Rodgers did, in fact, hypertarget Adams, giving him 114 in their 11 games together. But Wilson’s 87 in those same 11 games was not the total of a slouch. Wilson and Adams, along with Breece Hall, essentially dominated the Jets’ offensive opportunities.

2025 Look Ahead
It might be easier to list what hasn’t changed with the Jets than what has. Rodgers and Adams are gone, along with interim coach Jeff Ulbrich and Rodgers’ hand-picked proxy offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. They have been replaced by new HC Aaron Glenn and OC Tanner Engstrand, along with Wilson’s former college teammate Justin Fields at quarterback. The Jets focused on the offensive trenches in the 2025 NFL Draft, taking OT Armand Membou and TE Mason Taylor in the first two rounds.
With no direct replacement for Adams, Wilson will take on even more responsibility in the passing game (if that’s possible). His 23-target game against Minnesota last season may feel like child’s play at the end of this year.
The one (and only) weak spot in Wilson’s production profile has been his lack of touchdowns. 14 in three seasons is not the stuff of a fantasy alpha dog, but it’s not unreasonable to blame the lack thereof on the environment around him. Two years of Zach Wilson will do that to a fella. We know the volume will be there, will the 2025 Jets provide enough end zone opportunities to push Garrett Wilson to the next level?
Former Lions’ passing game coordinator Engstrand taking over at OC should be a certifiable upgrade for the offense. The question then becomes, what will Fields bring to the quarterback position? Fields played well in Pittsburgh last season before ceding the starting job to Russell Wilson and Mike Tomlin’s stubbornness. His rushing ability will certainly provide the offense another dimension, but QB play is more than rushing and scrambling ability. Fields will need to take his passing game to another level to enable Garrett Wilson to do the same.

A Look Inside the New York Jets
Editor’s Note: While this article focuses on Garrett Wilson in fantasy football, we don’t want to leave you hanging on the rest of the team. Here is a quick look at the other fantasy-relevant Jets from Joel Wirth.
The fate of the offense relies on Fields’ right shoulder. Can he speed up his release and learn not to take so many sacks in season five?
His numbers being slightly down from a post-ACL season have to be a concern, but this is a supremely talented fantasy asset. Like Wilson, he needs a better offensive environment to juice his TD totals to take another step.
Produced pretty well for a 4th round pick. Remember, he just turned 21 in January; he’s younger than most of the kids who will be in the draft next year. The persistence of Breece Hall trade rumours gives Allen massive contingent value.
Got more run than expected behind Hall and Allen. Was he a “previous coaching staff pet,” or is there more than meets the eye here?
Whether he stays with the Jets or moves on to Pittsburgh to rejoin NFL-career sugar daddy Aaron Rodgers, you don’t want him anywhere near your fantasy roster.
When people say “if you can’t get on the field as a rookie receiver, you’re probably just a bust…”, they’re talking about Malachi Corley.
Mason Taylor
It’s tough for rookie tight ends not named Brock Bowers or Sam LaPorta to be fantasy contributors, but Taylor has Hall of Fame bloodlines and the Jets have to have somebody to throw to besides Garrett Wilson.
