The A List at DFS Academy | NFL DFS Week 14

If you are like me, your attention will be torn in Week 14 between your NFL DFS lineups and your Best Ball teams. That’s right; we have finally hit Week 14, which means it is time to find out which of those teams we drafted back in the summer make it to the Best Ball playoffs. 

Or maybe most of your Best Ball teams are already practically eliminated. In which case, DFS is here to give you something else to focus on this week. Let’s get into our Week 14 NFL DFS Cash picks.

NFL DFS Week 14

Teacher’s Pet

Saquon Barkley (DraftKings: $9,000 / FanDuel: $10,000)

Saquon Barkley has hit 2023 Christian McCaffrey level. Almost regardless of his salary, Barkley is worth playing in DFS Cash. It certainly helps that he matches up against the Carolina Panthers this week, who have struggled against running backs throughout the season. The Eagles are currently favored by 13.5 points, further insinuating that they will be running the ball plenty with Barkley leading the way. And don’t worry, we have some punt options later on to make it easy to fit Barkley in your lineup.

Honor Roll

Alvin Kamara (DraftKings: $8,000 / FanDuel: $9,200)

As good of a position as Saquon Barkley is in this week, Alvin Kamara potentially has the best matchup of any running back this week. Not only because the New York Giants have allowed the most points to running backs since Week 10, including a performance by Rico Dowdle, but also because there is no Taysom Hill this week. We have seen Kamara get 30 touches in games with minimal pass-catching options and no Hill, which is the exact situation we find ourselves in this weekend. Expect Kamara to be highly rostered, and rightfully so.

Drake London (DraftKings: $6,400 / FanDuel: $7,900)

Despite how the Falcons looked last week from a football perspective, Drake London looked like a man on a mission. He was targeted an astonishing 16 times, his highest mark on the season and the fifth time he has had at least 10 targets this season. This week, he matches up against a Minnesota Vikings team that has struggled against receivers throughout the season. Additionally, this matchup has the potential to be a back-and-forth affair, further warranting lots of usage for Drake London. 

Brock Bowers (DraftKings: $6,500 / FanDuel: $8,000)

The Las Vegas Raiders rookie tight end has been incredible and is currently on pace to beat Mike Ditka’s rookie receiving record. He has three consecutive games with at least ten targets, and there is no reason to believe that will change in Week 14. Brock Bowers has been everything dynasty managers were hoping for, and DFS Cash players can rely on him once again in Week 14. 

Check the Chalkboard

Zach Charbonnet (DraftKings: $4,800 / FanDuel: $5,300)

As of this article posting, we have yet to get an official decision as to whether Kenneth Walker will play on Sunday. That said, he missed every practice this week, which indicates he is unlikely to play. If Walker is marked officially inactive, Zach Charbonnet becomes a no-brainer free square. He is wildly cheap and will take most of the touches. The bad news is that he plays in the 4:00 window of games, so we may not have confirmation until late. The good news is that if Walker does play, there are several acceptable pivots, including Demarcus Robinson and Michael Wilson.

Participation Grade

David Moore (DraftKings: $4,000 / FanDuel: $5,300)

One of the reasons I love DFS is because we get to play people like David Moore. In case you are like me and do not know Moore, he has been in the NFL since 2017 and formerly played for the Seahawks. Now, he seems to be Bryce Young’s favorite target. Moore has a combined 19 targets across his past two games, demonstrating an impressive role at an incredibly cheap price. As the Panthers look to play catch up against the Eagles, expect Moore to remain a prominent part of the offense.

Back of the Classroom Studs

Aidan O’Connell (DraftKings: $4,800 / FanDuel: $6,700)

There are several interesting cheap quarterback options this week, including second-year quarterback Aidan O’Connell. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have struggled against opposing passing attacks in recent weeks, including giving up nearly 300 yards to Bryce Young in Week 13. O’Connell has demonstrated multiple times that he can competently run an offense, and at $4,800, all we need is 15 points for him to pay off his salary on DraftKings. 

Sterling Shepard (DraftKings: $4,000 / FanDuel: $5,400)

Tampa Bay has defined a very specific role for Sterling Shepard. Every week, we can count on him to get several catches on out routes that immediately go out of bounds. He has two consecutive games with at least seven targets and now faces a Las Vegas Raiders defense that has struggled against opposing receivers. At this price, Shepard allows us to spend up for Alvin Kamara and Saquon Barkley and does so with solid target volume. 

Chicago Bears (DraftKings: $2,400 / FanDuel: $3,600)

Most weeks, we can just punt at defense and not worry about it. Week 14 is no different, and the Chicago Bears provide a solid punt option. The Bears have been one of the tougher defenses throughout the season, and the San Francisco 49ers have been struggling in recent weeks. Their run game has yet to return to the ultra-efficient and explosive nature we have come to expect in recent years. Plus, Brock Purdy has often been fighting for his life, avoiding pressure. All around, the Bears are in a position to provide a safe floor.
