NFL DFS Wild Card Weekend

Teacher’s Pet

CeeDee Lamb (DraftKings: $9,000 / FanDuel: $10,000)

CeeDee Lamb has been as reliable as they come down the stretch. He finished the season by overtaking Tyreek Hill for the most DraftKings points and nearly surpassed Hill’s receiving yard line. Now, back at home, Lamb faces off against a struggling Green Bay Packers secondary. He continues to bring in a ton of volume and will play a key role in getting the Cowboys to the Divisional round.

Honor Roll

Dak Prescott (DraftKings: $7,600 / FanDuel: $8,600)

When the Cowboys are at home, they feast. Dak Prescott is liable to pass for 300 yards and four touchdowns on any given weekend. Once again, the Cowboys have the highest implied team total, currently set at 29 points. Dallas has been averaging over 30 points per game when at home, in large part due to the success of Prescott.

Aaron Jones (DraftKings: $6,300 / FanDuel: $7,000)

On the other side of the Cowboys game, Aaron Jones looks to carry his team to an upset victory. The Dallas Cowboys have been mid-tier against running backs in recent weeks. That said, Jones gets plenty of utilization in the passing game to give him a safe floor. He has been dominant down the stretch, finishing the season with three consecutive 100-yard performances. With many running backs facing tough opponents, Aaron Jones is as safe as it comes.

Najee Harris (DraftKings: $5,400 / FanDuel: $6,500)

The Pittsburgh Steelers are bracing for a game where wind gusts could be up to 50 miles per hour. They were already relying heavily on Najee Harris. If the weather is as bad as expected, they may run the ball 50 times to avoid Mason Rudolph having to grit it out in tough conditions. Plus, Harris started getting back involved in the passing game last week, providing additional floor.

Rashee Rice (DraftKings: $6,600 / FanDuel $7,800)

Since Kansas City last played the Miami Dolphins, Rashee Rice has become a consistent part of their offense. Rice brought in at least nine targets in five of his last six games. Keep in mind that Kansas City played their starters minimally during their Week 18 matchup. Not only does Rice continue to be a consistent target hog, but the Miami defense is struggling with tons of injuries. With the lack of pass rush coming from Miami, Patrick Mahomes should have more time to get the ball to his stars, including Rice.

Dallas Goedert (DraftKings: $4,800 / FanDuel: $6,100)

My Dallas Goedert pick went horrifically wrong in Week 18, as did the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive game plan. But, we’re going back to the well, as Goedert has another dream matchup on Super Wild Card Weekend. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have averaged 20 DraftKings points per game to opposing tight ends since Week 14. Needless to say, they are the best matchup for tight ends this weekend. Plus, the Eagles need to target their reliable players to make it to the Divisional round. There are few tight ends more reliable than Goedert.

Check the Chalkboard

Rachaad White (DraftKings: $6,900 / FanDuel: $7,700)

Mr. Volume himself, Rachaad White, has made his way into the playoffs. White has often received at least 20 opportunities, including work in the passing game. Surprisingly, he has a solid matchup, as the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense continues their downward spiral. The Eagles provide the best matchup among playoff teams for opposing running backs. They are averaging just under 30 points per game allowed to running backs since Week 14. With the consistent volume White receives, he should easily triple his salary.

Participation Grade

Trey Palmer (DraftKings: $3,400 / FanDuel: $5,400)

Not only have the Philadelphia Eagles struggled against the run, but they also are giving it up through the air. Trey Palmer has seen an increased role in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense, finishing the season with three consecutive performances with five or more targets. Palmer is a solid route runner who can come out of the slot. Lucky for him, the Eagles struggle against slot receivers. Additionally, Palmer can take the top off the defense, so could easily find himself streaking down the field for a long touchdown. Needless to say, he is the punt play of the week.

Back of the Classroom Studs

Jared Goff (DraftKings: $6,200 / FanDuel: $7,700)

In the revenge game of the century, Jared Goff gets a chance to tee off on his former team, who allowed the most points to quarterbacks among any team since Week 14. Additionally, the Rams have been stout against the run. Therefore, the Lions will have to pass the ball to move down the field, which they should have no issue doing. Plus, Goff allows you to save some salary, which is always a nice perk.

Devin Singletary (DraftKings: $5,700 / FanDuel: $6,300)

As good as the Cleveland Browns defense has been, they are one of the best matchups for running backs among the remaining teams. Since Week 14, they have allowed the second most points to the position when compared to playoff teams. Meanwhile, Devin Singletary continues to be the number-one running back for the Houston Texans. Despite a down performance the last time these teams played, Singletary is poised for a solid outing. Recall that during their last matchup, CJ Stroud was out in the concussion protocol. With Stroud back in the lineup, the Texans should at least keep the game close, preventing Singletary from getting game scripted out of contention.

Quez Watkins (DraftKings: $3,500 / FanDuel: $4,400)

If you decide to play Philadelphia Eagles receivers this week, make sure to keep an eye on the injury report. Devonta Smith returned to full practice on Thursday after struggling with an ankle sprain. A.J. Brown missed practice due to a knee injury. If either of these guys are limited or miss Monday night’s game, Quez Watkins is a solid pivot. Watkins led the team in targets on Sunday in Smith’s absence. He was also getting targeted early by Jalen Hurts, indicating he was part of the game plan, not simply the beneficiary of junk time.

Dalton Schultz (DraftKings: $4,400 / FanDuel: $5,900)

While the Cleveland Browns have been solid against opposing receivers, they have allowed tight ends to fare better. Since Week 14, the Browns have allowed just over 17 DraftKings points per game to the position. CJ Stroud has been known to favor the tight ends, particularly Dalton Schultz. Plus, when these teams last met, Schultz caught eight passes on 11 targets without Stroud in the lineup. Imagine his ceiling with Stroud.

Kansas City Chiefs (DraftKings: $2,900 / FanDuel: $4,000)

The Miami Dolphins limped into the playoffs, pulled together by toothpicks and duct tape. They have faced a ton of injuries, including on the offensive line. Between that and the weather, the Kansas City Chiefs have the opportunity to feast on defense. When these teams last played, Kansas City held Miami to just 14 points. Kansas City has been even better at home, so look for them to provide a safe floor for your DFS Cash lineups.

Pittsburgh Steelers (DraftKings: $2,600 / FanDuel: $3,000)

Let’s cut to the chase. If T.J. Watt is out, this is a horrible play. But the track record speaks for itself. When Watt plays, this defense is tough. The weather in Buffalo is expected to be gnarly, which could force a low-scoring game. Additionally, Josh Allen is prone to turn the ball over at least once, which could be all the Pittsburgh Steelers need to triple their salary.
