After two great weeks, this house of cards was bound to come tumbling down. It did so spectacularly. If you looked at our advice and decided to fade ALL FIVE PICKS, you won a lot of money last week because we went Ofer. Let’s get back on track. This is a Club Fantasy roundtable, with various staff members giving you their favorite prop bets. On Underdog, you can combine prop bets into two, three, four, or five pick parlays with increasing payouts. Hitting five of five pays 20x your buy-in or 10x with insurance. With all that said, here are our favorite Week 5 NFL Player Props.
Note: Underdog occasionally changes their props throughout the week. So, while we try, the information in the article may not be perfect. The advice certainly won’t be, lol. If the Prop changed before the article went live, I noted it.
Week 5 NFL Player Props
Ryan Weisse – Lamar Jackson OVER 202.5 Passing Yards
It’s always a little risky betting on a running quarterback to hit a passing yards prop. Thankfully, Pittsburgh is just handing out passing yards like candy this season. All four QBs they’ve faced, including rookie C.J. Stroud and terrible QBs like Deshaun Watson and Jimmy Garoppolo, have crossed the 200-yard mark. Jackson has hit the mark in two of four games, so at worst, this is a 50/50 bet, but the Steelers’ leaky defense has to up those odds.
Josh Hudson – A.J. Brown OVER 79.5 receiving yards (went way down)
The Rams shut down Brandon Aiyuk (3-43) and Michael Pittman Jr. (1-15). But they also gave up 12-141 to Ja’Marr Chase. So let me ask you – is A.J. Brown closer to Chase or Aiyuk and Pittman? Yeah, that’s what I thought. Brown has over 300 receiving yards in his last two games, and this game is looking like it will be a high-scoring game with the anticipated return of Rams WR Cooper Kupp. Brown will come to play, and Hurts is locked in on Brown. Take the higher to the bank.
Tootsiepop6 – Bryce Young UNDER 212.5 Passing Yards
Rookie Bryce Young is only averaging 167.6 passing yards per game in the three games he started this season. This will be an away game for the Panthers, which will pose an additional challenge to Young. His only other away game this season was against the Falcons, in which Young had his lowest amount of passing yards at 146. The Lions’ defense has shown to be tough this season. Take the lower on this.
Austin Amandolia – Dalton Schultz OVER 27.5 Receiving Yards
If you have watched these Atlanta Falcons as much as I have, you will have noticed that they simply cannot defend the middle of the field. I mean, A.J. Terrell can’t defend the entire field. The Falcons have been getting eaten alive by opposing tight ends, and with C.J. Stroud playing at an offensive rookie of the year level, his tight end should easily be able to hit 30 receiving yards.
Austin Amandolia – David Montgomery OVER 82.5 Rushing Yards
No Sun God? No first-round rookie? With Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jahmyr Gibbs both likely to miss this game, expect the Lions to run the offense through David Montgomery even more than typical. This is also a dream matchup, as the Carolina Panthers have struggled against opposing running backs. Montgomery is set up for a potential career day and should be pushing 100 yards on the ground.
And here is my betting slip to show I put my money where our mouths are! Good luck!
