Week 3 Wide Receiver Matchups

Week 3 has arrived, and boy, has it been wild already! But I’m ready to get you ready for tomorrow. Let’s get down to business. Here are the wide receiver matchups I’m watching in Week 3.

Week 3 Wide Receiver Matchups

Mike Evans vs. Eagles

As always, my easy pick is Mike Evans, and this week should be no different. I know everyone thought that things would not be nearly as good for Evans with Baker Mayfield. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case so far. Monday night against the Eagles, they will probably be playing from behind, which means plenty of targets for Evans. He will be facing Josh Jobe, who is giving up 19.5 yards per completion and last week had a completion rate of 57%. Targets will be heading his way, and this is your set-it-and-forget-it guy. Last week, Jordan Addison smoked Jobe for a 62-yard touchdown, and Evans is more than capable of the same.

Jordan Addison vs. Chargers

Speaking of Jordan Addison, have no fear of putting him in your lineup this week. This game should be an offensive shootout. Both of these teams are looking for their first win, and someone has to win. Obviously, Justin Jefferson will get plenty of work in this game, but he will also be well-covered because…he’s Justin Jefferson. When they can’t get it to Jefferson, Addison is the guy. Two weeks in, he’s at 133 yards and two endzone celebrations on 11 targets with nine completions. He will face Michael Davis, who is also giving up big chunks of yards. This could be Addison’s biggest week, and I’m here for it.

Zay Flowers vs. Colts

Zay Flowers’ production looks very good for Sunday. Odell Beckham is out this week, which should open up more targets for Flowers. With Mark Andrews coming back in Week 2, it took away from Flowers’ targets,  yet he was still able to accumulate 62 yards on four receptions. With Andrews out in Week 1, Flowers had nine receptions for 78 yards. So far, the Colts defense have given up 50 fantasy points to wide receivers in two weeks! This is the week Flowers will see the end zone. He can also make the big plays downfield, and to be honest, with how bad the Colts’ defense against the pass has been, the Ravens may try and see what they can get away with. Last week, Flowers had a 52-yard reception, and we should see some more big plays this week. Flowers will be lining up across from, wait for it, Dallis Flowers (LOL). He could also face Darrell Baker. Both are giving up big plays; they have allowed three touchdowns and 264 yards in two weeks, and they have 27 targets combined. So, there will be plenty of targets and opportunities for Zay Flowers.
