Stream of the Week: QB, TE, and Defense | Week 3 Rankings

How do I put this gently? WE ARE CRUSHING THIS STREAMING THING. The successes are piling up two weeks in, but more on that later. It was a great Week 2, and Week 3 already feels like De Ja Vu. Mainly because the same QB and TE were WAY too available on waivers, and we’re picking on the same offense with our DEF/ST choice. You guys are making this too easy on me, but here are the best streaming picks at QB, TE, and Defense from our Week 3 rankings.

A Quick Note: You will notice that I do not cover Kicker streams. We leave that to the experts, so check out Linda’s rankings.

Accountability

I’ve been streaming for a long time and don’t recall ever having a week like last week. My Stream of the Week was the best of my five picks at all three positions, and they ranked QB5, TE2, and DEF2. This is what Streams are made of. It’s still early, but we are crushing it on the season, too, having built the QB6, TE3, and DEF3 on my SOTW picks so far. My best picks are even better. Let’s hope this continues!

Week 3 Streams of the Week

Reminder: All picks were available in over 50% of ESPN leagues after waivers had run on Wednesday.

Quarterback

Stream of the Week – Jared Goff vs. ATL

Goff smashed as my Stream of the Week last week, finishing as the QB5 with 28 fantasy points. I’m a little shocked he’s still available in this many leagues. He’s the QB8 on the season and has 576 yards and four TDs in two games. Plus, he’s at home again this week and is a FAR better player at home. Last week, Jordan Love dropped three touchdowns on Atlanta on his way to a top-10 fantasy finish, and we should see similar or better numbers from Goff in Week 3.

Tight Ends

Stream of the Week – Hunter Henry @ NYJ

This one makes less sense than Goff’s availability. How is the TE2 overall on waivers in more than 50% of leagues? It makes no sense, but we’ll stream him to our advantage. Henry has scored a TD in each of his first two games and hasn’t seen fewer than six targets in either game. He’s sitting at 108 yards and two TDs on 11 receptions for the season. The Jets give up the 7th-most points to TEs and just allowed two TDs to Dallas’ tight ends last week. There should be another score and a top-5 week on deck for Henry.

DEF/ST

Stream of the Week – Kansas City Chiefs vs. CHI

We picked on the Bears last week, and it worked out to the tune of DEF2 for the Buccaneers. Now, it’s the Chiefs at home in Kansas City. In Week 2, Tampa Bay registered six sacks, two takeaways, and scored a TD against Chicago. The Bears now give up the 2nd-most points to DEF/ST on the year. On the other hand, the Chiefs handled business against a much better offense in Jacksonville last week. They kept the Jags out of the endzone and allowed just nine points in the game. They get a worse offense at home in Week 3, and as long as they don’t play down to their opponent, we should see 10+ fantasy points and a Top 5 finish. The Bears may not score in this game.
