Talking Props: Week 1 NFL Player Props

We’re taking a different approach to our prop betting article this season. Instead of one author, this will be the first Club Fantasy roundtable, with various staff members giving you their favorite prop bets from Underdog each. The goal will be to provide you with at least five weekly props. On Underdog, you can combine prop bets into two, three, four, or five pick parlays with increasing payouts. Hitting five of five pays 20x your buy-in or 10x with insurance. With all that said, here are our favorite Week 1 NFL Player Props.

Note: Underdog occasionally changes their props throughout the week. So, while we try, the information in the article may not be perfect. The advice certainly won’t be, lol.

Week 1 NFL Player Props

Ryan Weisse – Diontae Johnson OVER 4.5 Receptions

Johnson averaged five catches per game in what was considered a down 2022. The Steelers offense should improve this season, and San Francisco gave up the 6th-most fantasy points and over 13 catches per game to WRs. Pittsburgh should be behind and throwing plenty in this game, so expect high volume for Johnson.

Michael Sicoli – Brian Robinson OVER 59.5 rushing yards.

You don’t have to be the biggest Brian Robinson fan to smash the over on this. The Cardinals allowed over 118 rushing yards per game last season, sitting middle of the pack in the category. After losing Zach Allen and J.J. Watt in the offseason, it’s fair to expect a significant step back for one of the worst rosters in the NFL. Robinson had 15+ rushes in eight of his nine starts last season and figures to at least manage four yards per carry against a pitiful Arizona side.

Joel Wirth – D.K. Metcalf OVER 64.5 receiving yards (-115); Anytime Touchdown (+125)

Metcalf has averaged 69 receiving yards and has scored six touchdowns in nine career games against the Rams. In eight of those games, Jalen Ramsey was a member of said Los Angeles Rams football team. This is no longer the case. Sans Ramsey, the Rams will be among the worst secondaries in the league.

Josh Hudson – J.K. Dobbins OVER 59.5 rushing yards

Dobbins finished last season on a tear, averaging 6.96 yards per carry over his final four games. Add in the Todd Monken effect, where defenses will be spread out to account for the offensive spread formations. That leaves Dobbins against smaller defenders. Wheels up against a putrid Houston defense!

Queen Roxanne – Rachaad White OVER 10.95 fantasy points.

We just got pick ’em’s in Colorado this summer, and I can only pick over or under fantasy points. However, I did find a player I like. With Baker Mayfield at the helm this season, this offense could have a shaky start. With that being said, the running game is going to be strong. White heated up at the end of last season. Before Week 8, he didn’t have more than six attempts in any game. From Week 9 on, he only had three games with fewer than 10 attempts, and one was Week 18. With Leonard Fournette gone, that is how they should start this season. There is no doubt White will be a big part of this offense against a defense (Minnesota) whose run defense is decent, but they do give up big runs. Look for White to take advantage of that.

Underdog Freebie – Saquon Barkley OVER 0.5 total yards

Occasionally, Underdog just gives you a freebie. Saquon Barkley needs just a single yard to complete your five picks. I’ll play along and put money where our mouths are every week. My slip is below.
