Stream of the Week: QB, TE, and Defense | Week 15 Rankings

Week 15 Defense Rankings

It has been a long run, but we have reached the fantasy playoffs. As I always do, I want to congratulate you if you’ve made the playoffs while streaming even one of these positions. With the injuries and weird bye weeks, it has been a trying season playing this streaming game I love so much. However, now is not the time to pat ourselves on the back; we have three more wins to notch. So, here are my Top 5 streaming options from our Week 15 QB, TE, and Defense rankings.

A Quick Note: You will notice that I do not cover Kicker streams. We leave that to the experts, so check out Linda’s rankings.

Accountability

It was a good Week 14. While we only hit two QBs, three TEs, and two DEFs, our Streams of the Week did their job. Jared Goff went off, Hunter Henry played well, and while the PIT D/ST disappointed, they still scored three points. The Streams of the Week combined for 45 fantasy points, well over our goal of 34 points, which represents the average score of the QB12, TE12, and DEF12 in 2022.

The only real regret was that I didn’t trust Evan Engram, who had one of the best TE weeks of the season. Engram’s performance continues to boost our Best of the Bunch score, which tallied an insane 86 fantasy points in Week 14. Streaming is a league-winning strategy; you just need to choose from my five options better than I do most weeks!

Quarterback

Stream of the Week – Mike White vs DET

Choosing Mike White comes with some red flags. He was literally taken to the hospital immediately after last week’s game due to the beatdown Buffalo put on him. As a result, the Jets have brought Zach Wilson back into the fold, and he’ll be the primary backup this week. On top of the injuries, White has now gone two games without throwing a TD. Have I turned you off to this entire idea yet?

The upside with White starts with his Week 15 opponent. The Lions give up more points to fantasy QBs than any other team, and five of their last seven opponents have scored 25+ fantasy points. While White hasn’t found the endzone through the air in two weeks, though he does have a rushing TD, the passing volume is what keeps him a viable option. He’s thrown the ball 101 times in the last two weeks and averages over 300 passing yards. As for the TDs, the Lions have allowed multiple TDs to seven different QBs this year. That volume and TD-upside are what make him the best streaming option this week.

Note: Mike White is now officially Out on Sunday, and Zach Wilson will start. I will reluctantly call Zach Wilson my Stream of the Week and hope the fantasy football gods show mercy to any that must start him. Good luck!

Tight Ends

Stream of the Week – Greg Dulcich vs ARZ

I’m not sure we need much more analysis here than “Start your TEs against the Cardinals!” No team in the league allows more points to the position, and 10 different TEs have scored 10+ fantasy points against them, including three of their last four opponents. They give up six catches for 73 yards on average, which is 13 fantasy points on volume alone. Throw in a TD, they have given up nine to TEs this year, and you have a top-5 week. For his part, Dulcich has seen 16 targets over the last two weeks, and with Courtland Sutton likely to miss the game, there is no reason to think that dips. If you’re worried that Russell Wilson might miss the game, Dulcich was targeted nine times in Brett Rypien’s only start this season.

Defense

Stream of the Week – Pittsburgh Steelers @ CAR

Going back-to-back with the Steelers as the Stream of the Week. They let me down last week, but hitching your wagon to a DEF with TJ Watt always feels like a good bet. The Steelers have averaged two sacks per game since Watt’s return and have hit the QB five times per game during that span, a massive indicator of potential sacks. They also have two takeaways in three of their last five games. On average, the Panthers give up two sacks and one takeaway per game and allow the 11th-most fantasy points to D/ST. While they’ve been better over their last two games, the Panthers gave up 17 fantasy points to Ravens’ defense back in Week 11.
