Stream of the Week: QB, TE, and Defense | Week 14 Rankings

Week 14 Defense Rankings

We are just one week out from the fantasy playoffs in most leagues, and with six teams on bye in Week 14, streaming might make or break some playoff dreams. The pickings are slim in our Week 14 QB, TE, and Defense rankings, but there are some solid options available to those with new holes in their lineups. Week 13 was rough, as an injury took down our Stream of the Week QB, but it’s time to get recover and make that final playoff push.

A Quick Note: You will notice that I do not cover Kicker streams. We leave that to the experts, so check out Linda’s rankings.

Accountability

At this point, the trend of this season would be comical if it weren’t so tragic. If you’ve been following along, my 2nd pick every week has an uncanny propensity for outscoring my Stream of the Week. Last week, Jimmy Garoppolo was hurt early, and Jared Goff went off. On defense, Seattle played well as my Stream of the Week, but my 2nd choice was the Cleveland Browns, who scored more DEF/ST TDs than any team in the last 30 years.

For the week, my Streams of the Week totaled just 24 fantasy points. The weekly goal is to beat the QB12, TE12, and DEF12. On the season, they average 34 fantasy points, so we fell just short in Week 14. Fortunately, our Best of the Bunch did not.

In Week 14, my best picks scored 69 points. It would be nice if they were my Streams of the Week. On the season, the Best of the Bunch represents the QB1, TE2, and DEF1 on the season. Incredible and sad at the same time. At this point, your best bet is choosing my second option!

Quarterback

Stream of the Week – Jared Goff vs MIN

Goff has played well lately and tends to play even better at home. He has scored over 20 fantasy points in six games this season, and every one of those games has been in Detroit. He gets Minnesota at home this week. The Vikings allow the 9th-most fantasy points to QBs this season and have let hit seven different QBs to score 20+ fantasy points this year. On average, they also allow over 300 passing yards per game and have allowed six multi-TD games this season. With a weapon like Amon-Ra St. Brown, who scored two TDs last week, Goff is a good bet for 300 and 2 in Week 14.

Tight Ends

Stream of the Week – Hunter Henry @ ARZ

To say that 2022 has been a letdown for Henry would be an understatement. After a nine-TD, top-10 fantasy season last year, he is the TE25 and has only scored two TDs this year. However, Mac Jones seems to be improving lately, and no team gives up more fantasy points to TEs than the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals allow over seven catches for over 70 yards to the position on average, and Henry has seen five targets in each of his last two games. There is a good chance he hits 10 fantasy points on volume alone. The Cardinals have allowed 10 different TEs to score 10+ fantasy points. Henry has seven redzone targets this year but only one catch. He’s due, and if he adds a TD, Henry will be in for a top-10 week.

Defense

Stream of the Week – Pittsburgh Steelers vs BAL

Since the return of TJ Watt, the Steelers have played much better defense. They have at least one sack in each of their last five games and have scored 4+ fantasy points in three of their previous four games. Baltimore is typically middle-of-the-road when it comes to fantasy points allowed to D/ST, but with Tyler Huntley playing in place of Lamar Jackson, the Steelers are in a good spot in Week 14. The team was already allowing over two sacks per game with Jackson at QB, and Huntley tends to turn the ball over more than Jackson too. The Steelers have recorded multiple sacks in four of their last five games and have at least one takeaway in each of their previous four games.
