Stream of the Week: QB, TE, and Defense | Week 4 Rankings

Week 4 Defense Rankings

Week 4 always feels like a crucial time in fantasy football. Your record starts to matter after this week. You can already see yourself in the playoffs with three or four wins. At 2-2, you feel like you still have a fighting chance. And those sitting at 1-3 or 0fer start wondering what DFS is all about. We need to get you that win this week. Here are the best streaming options from my Week 4 QB, TE, and Defense rankings,

Reminder: All picks were available in more than 50% of ESPN leagues on Wednesday after waivers had run.
2nd Reminder: You can find all of our Consensus Rankings here!

Accountability

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. Dramatic? Yes, but also fitting. Things went great at QB and DEF. We hit on three QBs, though the Stream of the Week just missed, and four of our five DEFs finished in the Top 15. However, tight end was a flat-out loss, missing on all five picks.

All in all, the three Streams of the Week scored 30 fantasy points, just shy of our 35-point goal. For the season, we have built the QB25, TE21, and DEF8. Nowhere near where we want to be.

It’s not all bad, though. Our Best of the Bunch shows how good it could be if I made better choices. This is the score of the best of my five picks each week. I just didn’t make them the Stream of the Week. So far, they are the QB3, TE8, and DEF1. So if you choose from my picks better than me, you can stream a little stream of a fantasy championship!

Week 4 Streams of the Week

Quarterback

Stream of the Week – Jared Goff vs SEA

It’s not often that I’ll double down on a player, but options are thin, and Goff is the best of the bunch. While he did disappoint last week, just missing the Top 15, it wasn’t a terrible effort. He ended the game with 277 yards and one TD. One more TD, as I predicted, would have put him near the Top 10. So it wasn’t a complete dud–looking at you, Matt Ryan! This week Goff gets Seattle at home and should fare far better. The Seahawks are giving up 19 fantasy points per game to QBs, and every QB they’ve faced has thrown a TD. If Amon-Ra St. Brown is healthy, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him score two on his own. Goff returns to 200 and two TDs this week.

Tight End

Stream of the Week – David Njoku @ ATL

One mistake that I, and many other fantasy managers, make is chasing last week’s points. It’s almost always a trap, and I’m happily walking into it this week with Njoku. Cleveland seemed to use him a lot differently against Pittsburgh last week, resulting in almost 24 fantasy points. Atlanta is giving up the 2nd-most fantasy points to TEs, and three have hit double-digit fantasy points against them this season. If the Falcons key on slowing Amari Cooper, and they have pretty good corners to do so, Njoku could feast in this game. Atlanta does not have the talent at LB or Safety to cover Njoku in the middle. Pittsburgh might have just been an appetizer to what we get this week.

Defense

Stream of the Week – Indianapolis Colts vs TEN

The Colts DEF has been hit-and-miss this season, with far too many misses. They were my top-rated fantasy defense before the season started, and now they are available in enough leagues to call them a streaming option. Unfortunately, they looked mediocre against Houston when they should have dominated. They scored 0 (ZERO) fantasy points against Jacksonville but bounced back with a six-point effort against Kansas City. It has been confusing, to say the least. This week, they get division-rival Tennessee at home, and hopefully, this will be a get-right game. The Titans give up the 9th-most fantasy points D/ST and have allowed a sack and turnover in each game this season. The Colts DEF should take advantage and end this game with 10 fantasy points.

Other Options

  • Browns @ ATL
  • Giants vs CHI
  • Lions vs SEA
  • Bears @ NYG
