By The Stream Master General, Ryan Weisse
If you follow me on Twitter (and you should), then you likely saw my tweet on Monday about apologizing for a bad Week 8. I was thinking of this article when I wrote that tweet. We’ll get to just how bad Week 8 was in the Accountability section but suffice it say: I’m sorry. Weather played the wrecking ball last week instead of COVID or basic injuries and turned what should have been great matchups (CLE vs LV) into ground and pound games and that KILLED my QBs. The good news is that you’re still here, so I’ve built a bit of trust and I hope to get back into your good graces after Week 9. All players mentioned below are available in at least 50% of leagues on either Yahoo, ESPN, or both.
Accountability
Well, I think it’s fair to say that getting 5 out of 14 picks right SUCKS! Even worse, my Stream of the Week TE, Richard Rodgers, recorded no stats (thanks for your timely return Dallas Goedert) and my DEF actually cost you a fantasy point (don’t bet against Joe Burrow!) It was my worst week since September and it caused a big slip in my overall rankings. The one positive is my Best of the Bunch, where I score my best pick regardless if they were my SOTW or not. I’m good for one or two solid picks every week but, clearly, I just need to get better at prioritizing my streams.

Quarterbacks
SOTW- Daniel Jones @ WAS
Look, nothing I can say is going to make you feel 100% comfortable starting Danny Dimes, I get it. He’s the QB26 on the year and has thrown two more INTs than he has TDs. But you’re here for a reason, there aren’t any better options on waivers while Wentz, Burrow, and Goff are on a bye this week. Jones has scored at least 16 fantasy points in each of his last three games and over 20 in the last two. In Week 6, against this Washington team, he had one passing TD and added 74 rushing yards, making him the QB20 that week. We’re obviously aiming a little higher than QB20 and I think his last two games have shown us he is capable of that. Washington allows the 3rd most QB-rushing yards and has also allowed four QB-rushing TDs this season. Jones might not make them pay through the air but he can beat them with his legs — let’s just hope he doesn’t trip! Daniel Jones is available in more than 70% of leagues on both Yahoo and ESPN.
2. Drew Lock @ ATL
3. Teddy Bridgewater @ KC
4. Kirk Cousins vs DET
5. Derek Carr vs LAC
Tight Ends
SOTW- Eric Ebron @ DAL
This is Ebron’s third time as my Stream of the Week TE and he is 1-1 up to this point. His role has steadily increased in the offense and he is facing a depleted Cowboys team. Dallas gives up about 13 fantasy points per game to TEs and Ebron has gone for 40+ yards or a TD in five of his last six games. He was the TE3 in fantasy last week, catching four balls for 48 yards and a TD against BAL. Dallas managed to shut down the Philadelphia TEs last week, but that will be the exception, not the rule, and I think it’s clear that Baltimore has the better defense. Ebron will beat them early and often this week and is available in exactly 50% of Yahoo leagues but only 38% on ESPN.
2. Trey Burton vs BAL
3. Darren Fells @ JAX
4. Greg Olsen @ BUF
5. Tyler Eifert vs HOU
DEF/ST
SOTW- New York Giants @ WAS
If you’re not with me on Daniel Jones, I really do get it, but trust me on the Giants DEF/ST. They are a top-10 D/ST on the season, they have finished in the top-12 four times, and they were the DEF5 in Week 6, the last time they played Washington. In that game, they registered three sacks, two turnovers, and scored a TD. They’ve actually registered multiple sacks and at least one turnover in every game but one this season. Washington gives up the 9th most points to fantasy DEF/ST and the Giants should have no issue landing in the top-10 again this week. You can land New York in almost 80% of leagues, both platforms.
2. Houston Texans @ JAX
3. Washington Football Team vs NYG
4. Arizona Cardinals vs MIA
5. Tennessee Titans vs CHI
