There’s no more important time for critical waiver wire pickups than the playoffs. Get these players on your roster!
Bilal Powell – With Matt Forte going down and Bryce Petty slinging the ball the Jets will likely rely on Powell for its running game. Powell is also a great receiving back and one of a young QB’s best friends is a good check-down pass catcher. The Jets’ Week 15 opponent, the Dolphins, are so-so against fantasy running backs (15th), so he could be a great FLEX or RB2 fill-in for you.
Malcolm Mitchell – I said it last week and I’ll say it again, with Gronk out Mitchell is going to get more opportunities. He turned those opportunities into four catches for 41 yards and a TD this week. If he’s still on your waiver wire, you should pick him up, although he does play the #1 passing defense (Denver) in Week 15.
Kenneth Farrow – I mean, if you’re a Melvin Gordon owner, what other recourse do you have? You know the Chargers like to run the ball regardless of who their back is and their schedule actually lines up nicely (vs. Raiders, @ Browns) for Farrow to provide some late season heroics.
Matt Asiata – I don’t particularly like Asiata but he has scored in three of his last four games and if you’re a Forte or Gordon owner, he’s got to be on your claim list, behind Farrow and Powell.
