If you thought that the New England Patriots were going to the Super Bowl heading into the 2025 NFL season, a big congratulations is in order. Drake Maye had performed well in his rookie year, and there was certainly some NFL and fantasy buzz surrounding him, but it didn’t feel like that he had that level of ceiling heading into Year 2.
The rebuild for this organization came sooner than anyone could have anticipated, and the Patriots have made a lot of changes ahead of the 2026 campaign. Acquiring A.J. Brown was a massive get, and the fantasy community has placed a lot of expectations on him to be a WR1.
Romeo Doubs‘ addition to this team was significantly quieter, but he could have a major impact on this team, not to mention your fantasy roster. Let’s get into it!
Romeo Doubs 2026 Fantasy Outlook
What He’s Done
If you weren’t familiar with Romeo Doubs’ name or game before he signed with the Patriots, allow us to catch you up. Doubs is entering his fifth NFL season and spent the first four years of his career with the Green Bay Packers.
Much to the chagrin of fantasy football managers, the Packers have effectively adopted a wide receiver-by-committee approach. Several teams utilize this strategy with running backs, which is typically effective, but from a fantasy perspective as a wideout, this is extremely frustrating.
Doubs had some nice performances in Green Bay, but for whatever reason, the team didn’t increase his target share. He scored 10.3 fantasy points per game last season, which was tied with his career high. If Doubs’ volume goes up, even in the slightest, he could creep closer to the 14-16 PPG mark, if not higher.

Current ADP & Projections
While it’s unreasonable to think that Doubs will see a greater target share than Brown in this offense, he is slated to be the WR2, as the options behind him are limited at best.
Stefon Diggs led the team in targets last season with 125, followed by tight end Hunter Henry with 112, and Mack Hollins with 81. Diggs is no longer there, so there should be more than enough opportunities for Doubs to take over as the second-highest target-getter in this offense.
As it stands, Doubs is currently being drafted as the 126th overall player in fantasy, and the WR49 overall. At this price tag, he’s going in the 10th or 11th round, which is typically the time when casual players start to check out and take the athlete with the highest projections.
Doubs’ ceiling is higher than it’s ever been as the second option in a pass-heavy offense, and we would much rather have him than his former teammates Matthew Golden and Jayden Reed, along with Josh Downs and Quentin Johnston, who are also being selected ahead of him.
The Patriots are going to be one of the AFC’s best teams again this season, and we want as many fantasy pieces as possible that are hitched to that wagon, which includes Doubs.

A Look Inside the New England Patriots
Editor’s Note: While this article focused on Romeo Doubs in fantasy football, we don’t want to leave you hanging on the rest of the team. Here is a quick look at the other fantasy-relevant Patriots from Ryan Weisse.
Drake Maye
Maye was a revelation last year, and it’s hard to think he takes a step back. The offense around should improve with Brown and Doubs. He’s the QB2 or 3 in most drafts, going a couple of rounds after Josh Allen. The price is right; it’s wheel’s up for Drake “Drake Maye” Maye.
TreVeyon Henderson
Henderson played well enough as a rookie. He finished as the RB21 in a timeshare with Stevenson. Not much will change in 2026. Stevenson is still here, but Henderson is the younger, better back. He also showed a knack for scoring TDs, dropping 10 as a rookie. This trait makes Henderson a breakout candidate in 2026. There is a world where he finds the endzone15+ times in this high-powered offense. He is the perfect RB2 this season, and you might be able to land him as your RB3.
Rhamondre Stevenson
Stevenson was the RB25 last year on just 162 touches. He was helped along by nine TDs of his own. I think he cedes some work to Henderson this year, but he is still a viable RB3 to help on bye weeks. He just needs to protect the damn ball.
A.J. Brown
Most signs point to Brown losing a step, but all signs point to Drake Maye being the best QB he has ever played with. OC Josh McDaniels will keep Brown involved and happy. I expect a top-15 season.
Kayshon Boutte
The additions of Brown and Doubs put a damper on what many thought could be a breakout year for Boutte. He battled injuries in 2025, but finished as the WR50 on just 46 targets. Unfortunately, that is probably his cap for target volume in 2026. He is your classic Better In Best Ball wide receiver.
Hunter Henry
Henry saw a bit of a bounce-back in 2025, finding the end zone seven times after scoring just twice in 2024. With all the improvements in this offense, Henry may suffer most. I can’t sit here and tell you Henderson might score 15 times and not look at Henry falling below five again. He will be a good streamer in the right matchups, but I am not drafting Hunter Henry.
