NFL DFS Week 13

NFL DFS Week 13

Teacher’s Pet

Tyreek Hill (DraftKings: $9,600 / FanDuel: $10,000)

Tyreek Hill is the most expensive player on the slate, and he is completely worth it. Hill clearly meant it when he said he was targeting a 2,000-yard season, and he is currently on pace. This has led to him being a stud in fantasy leagues, frequently scoring over 25 points on DraftKings scoring. The Miami Dolphins are expected to roll over the Washington Football Team, who have allowed the fourth-most points to receivers since Week 9. Needless to say, Hill should be well on his way to another huge day.

Honor Roll

Bijan Robinson (DraftKings: $6,700 / FanDuel: $8,100)

We made it, fam! We finally got to the point of the season where Bijan Robinson looks like the league winner he was billed as during the pre-season. Coming off a two-touchdown game, Robinson matches up against the New York Jets. The J.E.T.S. Jets Jets Jets are getting torched on the ground, allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs on the season. Plus, they are dominant against the pass, so the Falcons will need to rely on their run game to move the ball downfield. Coming off his most efficient game of the season, Robinson is poised for another stellar performance.

Rachaad White (DraftKings: $6,300 / FanDuel: $7,500)

Yes, we’re going back to Rachaad White, who has become a perpetual cash-viable player. As long as the matchup is decent, White is always a consideration, given the sheer volume he soaks up in this offense. And wow, is the matchup good this week. Get your bingo cards out because it’s time for me to mention the Carolina Panthers run defense. Carolina has actually been better against running backs in recent weeks, but they are still allowing the seventh-most points to the position since Week 9. With that, White is positioned to translate his 15 to 20 touches into a solid performance for your DFS Cash lineups.

Michael Pittman (DraftKings: $7,100 / FanDuel: $7,900)

Similarly reliable is Michael Pittman, who has scored double-digit fantasy points in all but one week this season. At the same time, he has yet to break 25 DraftKings points. Pittman is the quintessential DFS Cash receiver. I am frankly having a hard time fitting him into my lineup with Tyreek Hill, but if you decide to pay up at running back instead of starting Hill, Pittman is a solid option on any given week.

Sam LaPorta (DraftKings: $5,600 / FanDuel: $7,000)

Why are the Detroit Lions only projected to beat the New Orleans Saints by four points this week? Further, this game has one of the highest over/unders on the slate at 47 points. A back-and-forth affair against the team allowing the most points to tight ends since Week 9? Sign me up for Sam LaPorta. He is frankly cost-prohibitive for how I am constructing my roster this week (again, I’m paying up for Tyreek Hill). But for all intents and purposes, LaPorta should get there in Cash settings.

Check the Chalkboard

Zack Moss (DraftKings: $4,600 / FanDuel: $5,600)

The term “chalk” was made for players like Zack Moss. The websites set their salaries before we got news of Jonathan Taylor likely missing two to three weeks after getting surgery on his hand. With Moss looking to be the lead back and being basically free on both sites, expect nearly everyone to play him. So, why not play him yourself? If he hits, you will need him to have any chance of hitting the Cash line. If not, no worries; everyone else played him anyway. You may be scared off by the matchup, but Moss put up 36.5 DraftKings points against Tennessee earlier this year. If Taylor ends up playing, we will likely pivot, but initially, this is a free slot.

Participation Grade

David Njoku (DraftKings: $4,100 / FanDuel: $5,600)

Despite the potential lack of clarity at the quarterback position in Cleveland, David Njoku is a solid salary savings option this week. Regardless of who has been under center, Njoku has six straight weeks scoring double-digit fantasy points on DraftKings. He has simply been a target hog, bringing in eight or more targets in five of his last six games. That includes one game with 15 targets. Even though the matchup isn’t great, the utilization is enough to support Njoku’s fantasy output.

Back of the Classroom Studs

Brock Purdy (DraftKings: $6,100 / FanDuel: $7,800)

Hey Josh, plug your ears. Brock Purdy gets the absolute best environment for a DFS quarterback you could imagine. The Philadelphia Eagles have averaged 30 DraftKings points per game allowed to opposing quarterbacks since Week 9. Yes, you heard that right. 30 whopping, beautiful points. Now, I don’t expect Purdy to go all Josh Allen on us and score two rushing touchdowns. But he should have plenty of pass game volume in what is poised to be a tight battle against a weak Philadelphia Eagles secondary.

Russell Wilson (DraftKings: $5,700 / FanDuel: $7,400)

I always put two quarterbacks in this article, so I felt obligated to identify someone other than Brock Purdy to start. And honestly, the most expensive players all make me nervous this week. I can tell a story where Jalen Hurts, C.J. Stroud, Justin Herbert, and Tua Tagovailoa all fall short of the ceiling we need to pay off in Cash lineups. Instead, the only other cheap option outside of Purdy is Russell Wilson. I know, I thought I would never say it. But he has consistently put up around 15 DraftKings points, which isn’t incredible, but doesn’t kill your lineup. The biggest issue with playing Wilson is that if Purdy goes off, you’re going to get buried unless Wilson has a ceiling day. All that to say, I can make a case for Wilson, but I still prefer Purdy in Week 13 DFS Cash games.

Najee Harris (DraftKings: $5,200 / FanDuel: $7,200)

Two weeks ago, I said I was out on all Pittsburgh Steelers for the foreseeable future. Then, they fired Matt Canada and left me feeling like Hawkeye from Endgame. So, here I am crawling back to none other than Najee Harris, who had a great week in his first game without Canada. He is just too cheap against one of the best matchups for running backs in the Arizona Cardinals. Even if repeats his Week 12 performance, where he had no targets but 15 carries, he can get there if he falls into the endzone. He is admittedly my fourth favorite running back option this week, so likely won’t make my lineup, but if someone plays Harris in Cash, I would totally understand.

Josh Downs (DraftKings: $5,100 / FanDuel: $6,100)

Having a hard time fitting Michael Pittman into your lineup? How about Josh Downs instead? Downs is coming off a week where he had 13 targets. Somehow he only brought in five of those, but that usage is incredible, and I will continue chasing that target volume. This is poised to be a tight battle. The Colts are favored by a single point, which should provide plenty of opportunity for Downs to triple his salary. Also, I am comfortable playing two Colts players in Cash this week, so I will still play Zack Moss with Downs in my lineup.

Greg Dortch (DraftKings: $3,700 / FanDuel: $5,200)

While Michael Wilson has been out with injury and Marquise Brown has been banged up (shout-out to Kelly Singh for pointing this out during DFS Academy), Kyler Murray has turned to Greg Dortch. Dortch has a combined 17 targets in his past two games and somehow is still priced below $4,000 on DraftKings. Honestly, it doesn’t get much easier than that. I could see Dortch also being highly rostered this week, which means he is a solid play for Cash lineups, but likely someone to avoid in tournament settings.

Cleveland Browns (DraftKings: $3,100 / FanDuel: $4,100)

The Cleveland Browns have been discounted, dropping down to $3,100 against the Los Angeles Rams. The only times the Browns have been this cheap were against high-powered offenses like the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, and San Francisco 49ers. But the Rams have struggled in pass protection this year, giving the Browns plenty of opportunities to force sacks and turnovers. While their offense may put them in bad situations, the Browns have a safe floor to support your Cash lineup.

Denver Broncos (DraftKings: $2,700 / FanDuel: $4,000)

Want to save some money on defense? The Denver Broncos have been a frisky team in recent weeks, forcing numerous turnovers and challenging opposing offenses. They have scored at least eight fantasy points in each of their past four games. They have zero games with negative fantasy points. Yes, even when they gave up 70 points to Miami, they scored a defensive touchdown and so scored two fantasy points.
